The Rhythm of Business is proud to once again sponsor ASAP’s European Summit in London 17-19 September and the ASAP Biopharma Conference in Boston November 4 – 6. The European Summit is a cross-industry even that has quickly become the leading European conference on business collaborations and alliance management. The Biopharma Conference is the premier event for life science alliance professionals. We encourage you to attend one or both for the latest thinking and practices for realizing value from alliances and to build an organizational partnering capability.
At the European Summit we will be highlighting our work on developing effective Joint Steering Committees (JSCs). Leading alliances do better at aligning around a strategy and making decisions in a timely manner so that they realize their intended value. One reason? Their senior executive committees – frequently, but not always labeled JSCs – are more effective. This presentation shares data gathered over the past four years from codevelopment and cocommercialization alliances to demonstrate how alliance professionals can guide their JSCs to provide leadership and empower teams to produce results. Can’t make it to London? Check out this article published in Strategic Alliance Quarterly that shares some of the findings and guidance to help your JSC exercise effective leadership.
On the opposite side of the pond, in our home town of Boston, we’ll be conducting a mini-clinic, Improving Alliance Outcomes by Building High-Performing, Collaborative Teams at the Biopharma Conference. Every alliance manager has dealt with dysfunctional project teams and governance committees that never seem to become one. Research demonstrates that developing people’s abilities to collaborate well results in working more effectively within alliances and achieving better outcomes. We’ll share frameworks and tools alliance professionals can use to help their teams collaborate effectively, reducing the churn and swirl that just wears people out and results in suboptimal decisions.
Finally, we’ll be at the first ASAP Local in Boston’s Seaport on August 7. This informal networking event is a great place to reconnect with colleagues and make new acquaintances in the alliance management professions. It is a free event, open to both members and guests.
We hope to see you at one of these events. Please come say hello and ask us anything about alliances and alliance management.
